romantic getaway...

It's currently 86*, and I feel like my skin is melting by the minute. The lady and I took a little trip to Indian Wells to stay at her favorite spot the Miramonte Resort & Spa. She thought it would be a good idea to keep my bday festivities going since things ended somewhat badly last weekend. Now I'm really not a big fan of the heat, so we made a compromise that I could bring my laptop, and nerdout while she roasted in the sun. I was however skeptical about coming since our last trip to the desert was a little crazy. Luckily this trip has been very pleasant.

While she bathed in the sun I caught up on a little reading. I've been reading this book called tuesdays with Morrie, which is about newspaper columnist Mitch Albom recounting his time spent with his 78 year old sociology professor at Brandeis University, Morrie Schwartz, who was dying from Lou Gehrig's disease. Albom, a former student of Schwartz, had not corresponded with him since attending his college classes sixteen years earlier. The book was so good that it actually got turned into a TV movie a few years ago. I don't want to give it away because it's a really good read, so you should check it out for yourself.

After a few hours of roasting we decided to get out of the sun for a bit, and catch a movie. We've been hearing a lot of really good reviews about The Hangover, so we opted to see that. This was probably one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time, and I highly recommend it if you've haven't seen it yet.

After the movie it was time to grub, so we stopped at one of my favorite spot Olive Garden.

After dinner we went back to the hotel we had a little wine then chilled in the jacuzzi before calling it a night.

On the way home we stopped in Cabazon to check out the Dinosaurs I've wanted to come here since I was a kid when I first saw it in the movie The Wizard.

the end.
